Bloomsday art for Literature lovers - Ulysses inspired Artwork.

Ireland Literary Art

Celebrate  BLOOMSDAY all year round with this Ulysses inspired Artwork.

Bloomsday which is  celebrated on the 16th of June each year commemorates the life of Irish writer James Joyce.  Fine art Photographer, Louise O'Gorman from Dublin has created  this Ulysses inspired artwork which can be hung in your home to enjoy all year round.

'The Ulysseas' is a manipulated photograph containing the quote from the literary masterpiece 'Ulysses' by the Irish writer James Joyce.

Text of the famous quote "The sea, The snotgreen sea, The scrotumtightening sea" which refers to the cold Irish sea, is laid on top of the layered painterly  green hued image of the sea.

The original photograph taken at the forty foot,  the former all male bathing area which is overlooked by the 'James Joyce' tower in Sandycove, which was once home to Joyce himself for a short time.

The artwork is inspired by the traditional celebratory swim with my  82 year old father who was born on Bloomsday!    Having left Ireland in my early 20's, its the culture, literature, coast line and swimming in the freezing cold sea that I miss the most.

This image with its hues of nostalgic green landscape, literary reference and the handrail guiding us in allows for reminiscence both personally and nationally of the fun celebrations that take place in Ireland on the 16th of June every year.

The Irish coast and swimmers enjoying the scrotumtightening seas, form a large part of her limited edition print collection.  Louise sells her work through Saatchi Art and other international art galleries, Her work is collected by buyers internationally.

Museum quality prints that come with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Prices start at €110,  10% discount can be obtained through Louise’s website at www.louiseogorman.art
