By the banks of the Pigeon House
Inspired by Black and white darkroom techniques, this image has hues of sepia seeping through the muted textured background. The red and white painted towers are symbolic of old hand painted photographs.
The Pigeon House, The Poolbeg Generating Station or also colloquially known as The Poolbeg Stacks or Towers and chimneys is a power station owned and operated by the Electricity Supply Board of Ireland (ESB).
The chimneys are located on the Poolbeg peninsula, an artificial peninsula built of reclaimed land to the east of Dublin, on the south bank of Dublin Port.
Its two chimneys, at just over 207 metres, are visible over much of Dublin, making them one of the most well-known landmarks in Dublin and one of the tallest structures in Ireland.
“Taking photographs is my way of escapism, my camera allows me to enter another world to create images that are alive in my imagination.”

Placing myself in the frame, I create series through thought provoking aesthetic narratives which tell stories of a person, a place or an emotion. This one is about retrospection, past memories and feelings of moving forward.
Studies have shown that by looking at art which expresses emotions, it enables us to release our own emotions more freely. This series transforms conscious emotions into an artistic expressions.
Influenced by early photographic techniques, I plays with natural light, long exposures, shadows and reflections. Being inspired by traditional painting methods, the resulting images incorporate techniques borrowed from other disciplines to give my photographs an ephemeral yet timeless quality.
